📌 Job Overview
The Pastry/Bakery Chef is responsible for preparing a wide range of desserts, baked goods, and specialty items while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and consistency. This role plays a key part in delivering exceptional dining experiences in an international cruise environment.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present pastries, desserts, breads, and baked products
- Follow standard recipes and ensure consistency in taste and presentation
- Manage daily pastry/bakery production and service requirements
- Maintain hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP compliance)
- Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory control
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients (FIFO method)
- Collaborate with kitchen team for buffet, à la carte, and special events
- Supervise and guide junior staff (Commis / DCDP if applicable)
👨🍳 Skills & Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Bakery & Pastry Arts or Hotel Management preferred
- 2–5 years of experience in pastry/bakery section (hotel/cruise/production kitchen)
- Knowledge of international desserts, breads, and baking techniques
- Creativity and attention to detail in presentation
- Ability to work under pressure in high-volume production
- Strong hygiene and safety awareness
🌍 Employment Details
- Contract duration: 6–9 months (renewable)
- Work environment: International cruise ship kitchen (galley)
- Rotational shifts with extended working hours
